The Right IVF Specialist, Trust Experience Over Promises.

After initial evaluation by your own doctor or gynaecologist, you may already have been prescribed fertility enhancing medications or even had one or more attempts at intrauterine insemination (IUI). If pregnancy still has not occurred, it is time to move on to more successful forms of treatment such as IVF (or ICSI)
IVF is an expensive treatment, so before embarking on this emotionally and financially expensive course of treatment, it would be wise to remember that the right IVF consultant and clinic can make the difference between having a baby and remaining childless.
Some questions to ask yourself before you start treatment:
A good bedside manner and a caring attitude are important attributes in a doctor and help establish a good doctor-patient relationship. Remember that no doctor can guarantee success, so it is important that you feel that he/she has done their best for you.
There is no substitute for good qualifications and training. Like everything else in life, the more experienced your doctor, the more likely he is to get it right.
It is important that the treatment and medications are tailored to your needs and not to a protocol or to suit the doctor’s needs. As there is no 100% successful treatment, you should be given the information you need to make an informed choice and this information should include all the available alternatives, pregnancy rates and costs anticipated. You and your spouse should also have an opportunity to ask questions and clear doubts.
